Don’t Cry For Me I’m Brave is a sonic & visual dream of beauty and absurdity.

We are interested in heightened emotional states: the excess of feelings like love and doom and everything in between. We are making sounds, paintings, and sculptures which combine familiar landscapes, figures and icons on the axes of brave, cute, real, imagined. 

Although ecologies in crisis is a present theme, this show resists the narrative of a single impending apocalypse.

The “apocalypse” has happened, is happening, will happen... it just doesn't look like a meteor crashing to earth.  We are trying to understand what that looks like. We think it is fragmented, ruptured.

Jacquie = uses human/animal and ornamental imagery... reimagining diaspora identity in uncanny settings.  She is playful, dramatic, 7 foot 3, a minimalist glamazon. 

Genie = mapping and making internal landscapes public. Not only is she one half of the exhibition duo... she is also a DJ. She = a product of thoughtful interactions + beautiful energy.  

The two have come together to create a jovial and strange space. Part of the show is a cover/remix of T2’s Heartbroken, another part of the show is a horse ride across Lake George.
